Excellent discussion! I always learn something from this website. Depending on your definition of “horror movie” I’d add three movies to this list: “The Omen”, which is the best of “The Exorcist” imitators; “Alien”, a haunted house in outer space; and “Rosemary’s Baby”, because the movie combines supernatural suspense with gothic horror. Keep up the good work! See you at the movies!

Great additions! Alien is a masterclass in sci-fi horror. I have yet to see The Omen, but I recently watched Rosemary’s Baby for the first time. It is so well done! Very unnerving. It is among the better horror movies I have watched in recent memory. I was surprised when I learned it was a Polanski film because he was capable of doing so many different kinds of film well like Chinatown and The Pianist.

One of classic spooky films is Abott and Costello meet Frankenstein. This movie has it all from Frankenstein Dracula and the Wolfman. It also is great to see how Abott and Costello react to each of the Monsters.

That is a wonderful classic! I watched a lot of TCM when I was young and fondly remember Abbott and Costello, the Three Stooges, and Laurel and Hardy. I also remember thinking that if a movie was in black and white it must be appropriate for kids. Nope lol! I watched Freaks and The Pit & The Pendulum with Vincent Price and was absolutely scarred for life.

While GET OUT was my submission, really looking forward to finally seeing THE EXORCIST. It’s the right time of year to see it!
