The gold derby has entered the final lap.
What started as an intriguing contest with several promising qualifiers quickly became a fight for a distant second. Ultimately, it’s hard to imagine a world where Christopher Nolan’s 13-time nominated political epic Oppenheimer doesn’t dominate Sunday’s 96th Oscar telecast.
But this is the Oscars, and stranger things have happened. There are worthy contenders this year in the 11-time nominee Poor Things, the 10-time nominee Killers of the Flower Moon, and even favorites such as the 5-time nominee The Holdovers and the 2-time nominee Past Lives.
Nothing is ever truly locked, but much like last year’s Best Picture winner, Everything, Everywhere All At Once, it seems very close to near certain at this stage in the race. Below are our final predictions for the winners of every award in the 96th Academy Awards.
Want to play along with Cinemantics gang? Head to our Google Forum and enter your predictions before Sunday, 3/10, at 7 pm EST for a chance to win!
